2024 Golden Spike Celebration – May 11, 2024

The “Golden Spike” is a significant symbol in American history, particularly associated with the completion of the First Transcontinental Railroad in the United States. This historic event occurred at Promontory Summit, north of the Great Salt Lake in Utah Territory on May 10, 1869.  Chinese laborers made significant contributions to the construction of the First Transcontinental Railroad in the United States.
