Dr. Bingwen Yan served as CAAM board member from 2007 to 2018 and was the president of CAAM from January 2016 to May 2018. During his presidency, the 50 year anniversary of CAAM was celebrated. During that time CAAM also supported cultural exchanges with China and USA including exchange with Jiangxi, Shandong Chinese Cuisine Delegation, and Anhui Art Troupe. Also sponsorship of Chinese New Year at Minnesota Timberwolves game as well as at Mall of America.
Bingwen Yan, Ph.D., graduated from Nankai University. Dr. Yan was the visiting professor and research associate at Chemical Engineering, University of Minnesota from 1997 to 2001. Dr. Yan has served as a Research Director and Chief Scientist at SarTec Co.. Dr. Yan has published 72 papers in peer-reviewed journals internationally. Dr. Yan owns 25 patents and 5 patents in pending.
Dr. Yan won awards at Eastern Analytical Symposium in 2001, Minnesota Small Business Award in 2003. Dr. Yan won an Invention Award-Mcgyan Process named after Drs. McNeff, Glyberg, and Yan in 2010 from DOE. Dr. Yan is a lifetime member of University of Minnesota Alumni Association and a member of American Chemical Society (ACS).Dr. Yan is the current president and founder of Alliance of Minnesota Chinese Organizations (AMCO). Dr. Yan is the founder of Hunan Folks Association of Minnesota in 2005 and was VP of Minhua Chorus from 2006-2007.
